Volunteer

This whole effort is run on 100% volunteer power. This is going to be a huge event and we need lots of help in the lead-up and weekend of. Consider this your climate calling!

Logistical Volunteer

Description: The logistical volunteer will be involved in the initiation and the coordination of the event. The logistical volunteer would be either available in the morning (10-12) or in the afternoon (3-5).

Responsibilities might include (but are not limited to):

• liaise with the team leaders in coordinating with all the different activities
• tear-down of all the activities, booths, stage, etc.
• general clean-up
• time Commitment: 2-3 hours (either morning or afternoon)
• 15 volunteers needed

Outreach Volunteer

Description: The outreach volunteer will be involved in engaging people passing by the Hill on the day of the event. They may be required to inform the public about the Fill-the-Hill and the reasons we are there.

Responsibilities might include (but are not limited to):

• engage and inform the public about our event
• pass info cards and invite them to join us.
• time Commitment: 3-4 hours (flexible)
• 15 volunteers needed

Campaigning Volunteer

Description: The campaign volunteer will be involved in engaging the public at the Hill. They will be informing the public about our asks and will be engaging them in taking an action on that day (signing the petition, banner, paint their finger green, etc).

Responsibilities might include (but are not limited to):

• engaging the people at the Hill
• encouraging people to take action that day
• answering any questions about who we are and what we are asking
• time Commitment: 3-4 hours (flexible)
• 15 volunteers needed

Traffic Controller

Description: The traffic controller volunteer will be involved in taking incoming inquiries from media and directing them to the relevant person for information, for an interview, etc (not actually conduct interviews, just be that initial point of contact). They may also be asked to answer general questions from the public.

Responsibilities might include (but are not limited to):

• be the liaison person with the media
• answer general question from the public
• time Commitment: 2-3 hours
• 10 volunteers needed

Stunt Coordination Volunteer

Description: The stunt coordination volunteer will be involved in planning and executing the stunt.

Responsibilities might include (but are not limited to):

• help the choreographer of stunt direct and coordinate volunteers for the stunt
• assist the choreographer in various ways in executing the stunt
• time Commitment: 1-2 hour
• 20 volunteers needed

Poster Volunteers

Description: The poster volunteer will be involved in distributing posters in the Ottawa area.

Responsibilities might include (but are not limited to):

• distribute posters to various spaces in Ottawa
• work with the Ottawa Outreach team in coordinating poster distribution.
• time Commitment: 2-3 hours
• 12 volunteers needed

E-outreach Volunteer

Description: The e-outreach volunteer will be responsible for collecting a list of Ottawa online spaces (community e-bulletins, list-servers, etc) and sending them information about our event prior to the day.

Responsibilities might include (but are not limited to):

• compiling a list of community e-spaces and doing e-outreach
• time Commitment: 1-2 hours
• 5 volunteers needed
