My Writings. My Thoughts.
Climate Change 101
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) comprises more than 2,000 scientists from around the globe. For more than a decade, the IPCC has issued strong warnings to nations to drastically reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Despite these warnings certain parties representing fossil fuel interests have deliberately fostered a sense of confusion around the issue.
Very few are comfortable with change, particularly those who benefit from the billions of dollars generated by an activities called to question.
Climate Change Myths
Arm yourself with smart comebacks to deniers and sceptics. The following also helps when discussing the issue with family and friends who don’t understand what the big fuss is.

Media Confusion
In an effort to be ‘unbiased’ major media have given the sceptics equal coverage over the years. Is it any wonder so many have been confused about Climate Change? From the David Suzuki Foundation:
928 – The number of articles on Global Warming from peer-reviewed scientific journals over a 10-year period
0 – The number of scientists in these articles who disagreed with the consensus position that climate change is happening or is human-induced.
636 – The number of articles on Global Warming from four major American newspapers (New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, and Wall Street Journal) over a 14-year period.
More than Half – The number of articles on Global Warming that gave equal weight to the scientifically discredited views of the sceptics.
